Oleta River State Park offers one of the best mountain bike trail systems in Florida with 15 miles of single track that has something for everyone! Our multi-race trails provide a scenic view through the mangrove & exotic forest and the waterways; you can see a variety of birds and animals as you twist and turn along the trails.

Oleta River Bike Patrol

The Oleta River Bike Patrol is a volunteer program providing the safety patrol for the mountain bike trails in our park.

This patrol is a critical part of maintaining our trails and ensuring a positive mountain bike experience for our visitors.

We need additional members who can commit to at least one, four hour block most weeks. We also provide a safety net during special events with as many Bike Patrol members as possible to assist the paramedics to respond where they are needed. We would like to encourage police officers, firefighters, lifeguards and others who already have their CPR and first aid qualification, but anyone who is truly interested should also sign up for training.

Qualifying for the Bike Patrol starts with signing up as a park volunteer.

There is a training sign off sheet which you complete over a short period of time depending on your prior level of qualification. Qualifying for the Oleta Bike Patrol make you certified and eligible to join the IMBA National Bike Patrol which we encourage as we are an IMBA affiliate. If you are interested, please sign up as a volunteer at the park office and get the ball rolling.

For more specific information contact Cindy Fleming, Bike Patrol Coordinator, or Mike Fleming, Assistant Coordinator, through the park office or on the trails.
